I know of no paint that is resistant to battery acid.
We're talking about SULFURIC ACID here folks.Given
time, it'll eat thru 10'; of homogenous steel.
There are ways to neutrolize this acid, such as a
simple thing called bicarbonate of soda. Can be had
at any grocery store.
Get a big box of the stuff, really cheap, lay a good
layer of it down in your trunk, use a spray bottle of
water to wet it down.
What you see as rust,is the acid attacking the metal. You have to stop this action, otherwise, the
acid will keep right on eating away the metal around
the area, much like getting battery acid on your jeans. Is there any paint that is resistant to battery acid, so that sheet metal will not rust, recommendation ?
I found that KBS coatings have an Anti-rust Anti-Acid coating WOW

I found that impliment paint and engine paint are very durable. They are in tons of colors, cheap, and you can get them in rattle cans.
look for a two part epoxy based paint, its virtually indestructible.
