Do you mean rusting through? Front and rear fenders right behind the wheels.





These areas tend to hold moist salty dirt from the road and receive a constant sandblasting from the wheels.





The same for the bottoms of doors and tailgates, the drain holes get clogged and moisture stays in there and works 24/7 rusting the metal.

i would say the floor board because it gets the most water from your shoes. water on the outside can run off but the floor, it stays there.

Look for work, meaning all sorts of sites on the web and the yellow pages in Montreal. Call the a/c companies and ask to speak to the boss. Everything on large construction sites are unionized, this is not the best time for construction but there is still commercial and residential going up. just not as much as previous times.     Yes a surface profilometer is one instrument for measuring roughness. It also depends on how rough is rough. If you are dealing with very smooth surfaces (like Si wafers used to make computer chips), you need instruments that are much more sensitive than a typical profilometer. If you are dealing with very rough surfaces for example %26gt;700 microinch Ra roughness, (like very coarse sand paper, 60 or 80 grit), you need a profilometer rated for very rough surfaces.

    I don't mean to sound like a dick when I say this but they way you asked the question the simple answer is yes. You can do what ever you want if you really want to. Is it advisable? That all depends as well.





    The tricky thing about metal is that it produces resonance because it is going to be so thin. Think of those cars that have all those speakers in the trunk and it sounds like they have tin cans rattling in their trunk everytime the bass hits.





    You could make a box out of metal but you would need to do everything you could in order to make the box as solid and resonance free (viboration free) as possible.





    If you are set on building a metal boxyou need to do whatever you can do dampen the interior of the box to reduce the reflecting frequencies of the bass.





    I would highly suggest that you make the box a sealed enclosure.





    If they can make boxes out of concrete they can make boxes out of ';pretty much'; anything. As I said before. Every material has a different resonant frequency so the material of the box can play a role in the output of your sub.





    If you were to use 1/2'; thick metal and weld all of the pieces together compared to using 1/16'; sheet metal you would be able to tell a major difference.





    Honestly, I think it would be more effort that it is worth...

    The metal will be too heavy and make too much noise.
    make it out of wood. if it the look your going for make the box out of wood and put some sheetmetal on the outside.
    Make a flat pattern allowing at least one and one half the thickness if the metal for the bends, preferably more.


    When you get your pattern done it should allow one to bend


    all sides so the the finished produce can be sealed at the corners.


    You have to line the interior with foam and egg cartons.


    Bass has to be in compression or the speaker blows out.


    Also the bass energy need to be reflected of a vertical surface


    that can handle the sound energy without vibrating to much.


    there should be a 10 to 15 degree angle for reflection of the sound.


    Use Gorrilla tape if you cannot afford to have housing welded.
    Teh acoustics would be horrible. I would look to cover a wood one made of MDF with sheet metal if you wanted that look.
    No to the sheet metal. Use wood or ultra thick plexi-glass. The sound will be alot better.
    Yes you can!!! BUT- it will take proper tools,and you will need to protect the contacts from hitting the metal. The box will work, but will produce a hollow, tinny effect (not good) A way around this is to line the metal with carpet or rubber,or even fiberglass insulation......


    It sounds easier and simpler to use wood, but I think outside the box too!!! You can make it work, and besides--how many ppl can claim they have a meal sub enclosure???





    ALSO--USE RUBBER WASHERS AT SCREWHOLES TO DAMPEN THE SHOCK BETWEEN THE FRONT SIDE OF THE SPEAKER AND THE CONTACT POINTS ON THE METAL
