Can metal cut through the same type of metal if the sheet's heated up?

I mean can a pointed sheet of metal cut through metal of the same type if the sheet is heated enough? And how long would that take? Can metal cut through the same type of metal if the sheet's heated up?
Yes it could, heated metals have less resistance to sheering forces (tearing) the trouble is it would soon heat up too. in which case it'd probably coalesce (squidge together).
