Is 1/16'; thick aluminum sheet metal okay for making a gas tank?

I want to make a gas tank, roughly 5';x15';x15'; out of 1/16'; thick aluminum sheet metal. Does this seem alright? I'm going to have somebody else weld it for me, because I cannot weld aluminum (yet)Is 1/16'; thick aluminum sheet metal okay for making a gas tank?

That's a bit thin.





3/16 would be better. I think most aftermarket fuel cells use 3/16 or even 1/4';
It's a bit light.... and you won't easily make mounts for it.
