Lincoln makes a nice unit and it's easy to get parts anywhere. Also check out Miller equipment. I was a production welder for many years and we used Miller equipment in the shop. What brand home welder should I buy for welding sheet metal and angle iron?
Personally, I prefer Miller brand....have had problems in the shop with other brands more often than with with Miller.

Check the welding message boards for info too..
sheet metal is a thinner metal than angle iron, and any welder and the proper rod will work just fine, but thin metal ,you need a cetylene and oxygen bottle system.. it will do you a better job. unless you are a so so fine welder that can take a 6011 rod and make it not burn through this thin stuff.. the welding field is technical nowa days.and the lincoln is the proven welder of the four..
