What should be the dimensions of the sheet metal?

An open box is to be constructed from a square piece of sheet metal by removing a square of side 6 inches from each corner and turning up the edges. If the box is to hold 294 cubic inches, what should be the dimensions of the sheet metal?What should be the dimensions of the sheet metal?
Height of the box is 6';

Volume is 294'; = s^2 * 6

side = (294 / 6)^.5 = 7';

Dimensions of sheet = 7 + 6 = 13'; x 13';What should be the dimensions of the sheet metal?
You've almost answered the question - the depth of the box is six inches - the length and with are equal - take SQRT(294/6)...
