you'd probably get more responses if you put this question in the ';snowboarding'; section.. (tip for next time)

my dad just brought me some stuff called uhmw (puckboard i think?)

and i'm stoked on it.

i heard sheet metal has little ';granules'; that wear down ur board in time.

but if it's all you have i'd use it.

if not you could always try a think layer of carpet %26amp; put snow on top of it.

orrrr

you could use the layer of a truck bed..

pvc also works.. like .. line it up %26amp; glue or screw it on the top of ur box... (think pvc.. like an inch or two wide)Will sheet metal work on a snowboard box?
UHMW is very similar to HDPE but a few bucks more. Its actually what the base of your board is made out of. Steel sheet metal would work ok depending on how thick it is. You'll have a hard time getting real thin stuff flat if you screw it down. If you put plywood on the top of the box you can use some liquid nails to attach the metal to the wood but leave the front a little long so you can bend it down.
