Can a 1965 Mustang that has a vinyl top be converted to a hardtop without much sheet metal work?

The option was a ';Vinyl covered Hardtop';.

Just rip the vinyl of, pop the trim, fill the holes, sand off the glue and you're good to go... You'll need to pull the front and rear chrome trim to do it right. Can a 1965 Mustang that has a vinyl top be converted to a hardtop without much sheet metal work?
You'll need to add on more body stabilizers if you remove the top, which adds a lot of structure to the body. Take a look at a convertable and you'll see cross pieces under the hood. Plus. you'll need some room in the trunk for the top to fold down into. Good luck
