Very extremely small workspace.

1/8 inch thick steel sheet, not sure of the guage, but less than 16

Making a solo seat pan for a custom chopper.

Can I cut the sheet with a propane torch that you can get around $40 at Home Depot?

If not, what would be the cheapest way with what tool? Please no shears, that would take a while doing ';cut right, cut left, cut straight';Can I cut sheet metal with a propane torch?
a propane torch will not be able to get hot enough to cut the sheetmetal, try using a jig saw with a metal cutting blade, or a die grinder with a cut off wheelCan I cut sheet metal with a propane torch?
NO not unless you add O2 and regulators then use a regular cutting torch.Depending on how clean a cut you want you can use a regular skill saw with the blade turned backward(wear ear protection) or an abrasive disk (slow but cleaner) a hacksaw (take your time)
I do not believe the $40.00 torch would come with a cutting tip, which usually is only available for oxygen/acetylene torches. You could probably find some power shears for not much more than $40.00.
no

get metal blades for a saber saw or good jig saw
